It's National Running Day!!

It really is. Seriously.

So, to celebrate Dave, Avery and myself went on a run in a full-on thunderstorm last night. It was the coolest thing ever. We didn't actually mean to go for a run in a thunderstorm but we did and I think it was one of the greatest things I have ever done. When we left the house it was about 9:20 or so at night and it was sprinkling with some pretty dark clouds overhead. By the time we got home, there was rolling thunder, lightning and the rain was pouring down. If there was a race every year that was after dark and guaranteed to be in a thunderstorm I would definitely participate every year. Dave was a little more nervous about the whole thing. I don't think he would probably enter that race. He had fun though! We were discussing whether or not we would get electrocuted if a lightning bolt hit near us since we have rubber on our shoes. Our shoes were soaking wet but they were rubber. Does anyone have any idea? I thought we would be safe and Dave was pretty sure we would not. Maybe I was just being illogical in my state of euphoria. I insisted that we take pictures just in case Dave will not run in crazy thunderstorm with me again.
We could ring the water out of our clothes and hair by the time we got home. The thunder and lightning was pretty intense too. By the way, I do realize that running in a wicked thunderstorm is not the smartest thing ever. I don't think that will stop me from doing it again if I get a chance.

Anyway, Happy National Running Day!! Go for a run! Or a jog, or a walk or a bike ride or...

you crack me up! I think you would have been okay with your rubber shoes for sure. And I know what you are talking about--that was a crazy storm! P.s. When are you going to have a handsome little one of your own (besides your husband of course)

That sounds like so much fun, I am jealous!! Dara and I have been running in the rain several times and it is seriously a blast. Unfortunately, I can't run with this big belly. Soon, though...soon.

The thunderstorm sounds fantastic! I love being out in the rain. I could even do a jog. But flat out running. I think not. I would only do that if my house was on fire or someone was trying to steal my creme brulee (or any other of my favorite rich things to consume). Now last night we had some great running weather for you...

PS. the word verification for this is post is spampo. I think that is indicative of "something" significant eh?!?
