Pocatello Triathlon
So... about two weeks ago my dad decided that me, Dave and my Uncle Rob should do the Pocatello Triathlon as a team. Do you see anything wrong with this? Besides that my dad decided that we should do the triathlon and this took place two weeks before the event? But since our manager (my dad) said we should do it, we did. :) Dave did the run, Rob did the bike portion and I did the swim. It was a sprint triathlon which means it was a 5k run, 20k bike and 500 meter swim. Dave and I have been training for the St. George marathon so the run wasn't going to be a huge deal for Dave. Rob hadn't been training but at least owns a road bike which was more than Dave or myself and he got a whole two weeks to train. :) And I had never swam a lap in my life so I was pretty much freaking out. I got a few quick swim lessons and swam as much as I could for two weeks. On race day, if I was one to vomit when I get nervous, I am pretty positive I would have thrown up, maybe more than once. The whole venturing into new territory with two weeks to train apparently does not agree with me. I am really glad we did it though. It was really fun to do it with Rob and for our family to be there to cheer us on!

Woah second is really good. I would like to do a tri someday, but only a small one, not a full one...I'm too much of a wimp :) Congrats!
Ha, that is awesome Ashley!!! When is the marathon? And I love your new background.
Way to go!!! You guys are awesome... I think you got the short end of the stick, swimming would be the hardest part of the race. Are you guys doing anything at the Pocatello Marathon???
You are such an inspiration Ash....good for you guys #2 is awesome!!
That IS impressive (said the woman who likes to use water wings "just in case"). I especially like that it was your dad who got you to do it:0)
Good luck with the upcoming marathon.
Way to go. You're so freakin awesome.
Thanks for the b-day wishes, by the way. You were dead on- August 5th. Can't believe I'm 25.
