The marathon went really well. We reached our (secondary) goal of finishing under 4 hours. Our times were 3:55:40 (me) and 3:55:44 (Dave). We definitely are feeling the consequences of not training as good as we should have though. We are still sore today. Getting out of bed and taking those first few steps on Sunday morning were pretty much torture. Also, even though we are very proud of what we did, we feel like if we would have stuck to our training program we could have had much better times. I guess we will just have to do another one! :)
These first pictures are at the Inn at Entrada. We ended up buying stuff to make spaghetti back at our room the night before the marathon because every restaurant in town was packed! We were glad that we had a kitchen to cook in.
Dave and his mama cookin' away...
Me and Hailey...
My mom and pop....
Dave's padre...So our little cheering crew was at mile 7 and then at the end. The next four pics are at mile 7.
I think I look a bit crazed in the next picture...
This picture is just to show how many runners there were. You can't really tell unless you make it bigger but there is just a mass of people all the way up the hill. There were 7200 runners registered and about 5700 finished the race. (some people probably just didn't show up and some probably didn't finish)
I think I look a bit crazed in the next picture...I am in the black top and green shorts. Dave has on a blue top and black shorts.
And I love the sign that guy on the right of the picture is holding! I think I need a shirt that says that on it. (If you can't read it, it says, "That's not sweat... it's your fat cells crying!!)

Holy crap, Ash, you guys are amazing!!! I can't believe how many people ran that race, the picture of all the people up the road was insane. WAY TO GO!!!!
Ashley, you. are. AWESOME!!!!!! Seriously. Jason's sister just asked me if I wanted to do a marathon in Austin with her in the spring and I just had to laugh. I hate running, but I WISH I loved it, because I can see how it could be fun.
That sign the guy was holding up is hilarious!! You should make shirts with "That's not sweat, it's my fat cells crying" on it and sell them. I'd totally wear one to the gym.
WOW! Great Job Ashley! I want to do one someday, but I just can't make the big leap yet. Congrats on 26.2!Whoo whoo!
Oh and good job and congrats to Dave too! I wish I could get my hubby to run with me.
Yea for you guys...that is so awesome!! I want to start training for the 1/2 marathon they do here in Pinedale...not sure if I could ever train enough to do the full-hahaha!! GREAT JOB!!!!
WOOHOO! AMAZING. Really, your first marathon and you finished in under 4 hours? Crazy. So does that mean you are running the boston? Congrats to both of you, that really is such an incredible accomplishment.
You two are amazing Beastly ANIMALS!!!! How the heck did you do that!?! Very impressive. Makes me want to go take a nap.
