Meet Martin! The newest addition to our family aka Dave's early Christmas present. He is an English Setter. Dave had been contemplating a hunting dog for a while. Yes, Avery is a lab so she goes hunting too but she isn't really trained for it. Dave just takes her and lets her instincts do the hunting. Anyway, he wanted a dog to train from puppyhood to be his hunting companion. And we kind of wanted a buddy for Avery. Thus... Martin came to be part of the Van Orden clan! He is super cuddly and adorable. Him and Avery are still feeling each other out but I think they will be great companions! :)
I guess we are officially dog people! :)P.S. Don't you love his name!! :) We think it is pretty perfect.

Nah, I figured you were talking about either a dog or a cat. He's a cutie, and I'm sure he and Avery will become best of friends!
Avery is a very dignified name and if he's a typical pup it will be something he'll grow into. Though SPOT did come to mind with the big round one on his side - glad you resisted that urge ;0)

ohhh. He's cute!! I want a puppy sooo bad, but we don't have a house and our apartment doesn't allow pets. When we do have a house, we're going to get a chocolate lab.

Martin is the name of Dave's favorite musician and we thought Avery and Martin sound good together!
P.S. His name is Martin. Our older dog is Avery. In case anyone was confused.
