Oregon Coast 2012 babay, baaabaay! WARNING: picture overload!

... and a few other random tidbits and pictures.

We have been loving summer around here! The first few pictures are just a little bit of what we have been up to.

Namely...

Making messes.
 Getting outside!

Giving Mom crusty looks when she tries to take a self portrait of us.

 Napping with Daddy.
 Making more messes.

(This and the yogurt finger painting pictures were my attempt at keeping her preoccupied while I tried to get us all ready for our trip to Oregon.)

Pool time! Oh yeah! (P.S. How do kids not care when the water in a pool is freezing cold? I never cared! I am becoming a pansy in my old age.)

And now for THE trip!

(There was a picture right here of our munchkin peacefully sleeping in her car seat until I just accidentally deleted it. I bet you are all very sad you missed it.)

It took us 6 hours to get to Boise. Not kidding. There was a NASTY headwind. And also we had a little delay in Twin Falls because it sounded like our truck was being ripped apart by our trailer. Apparently it is normal. Who knew? The hitch has now broken in and it no longer wakes sleeping children within a 25 mile radius when we turn. Thank heavens!

Getting some wiggles out in Twin...

This is Dave being very annoyed at unhooking and reconnecting our trailer to no avail. Right after I took this picture I told him he looks sexy when he's mad. It didn't help. :)

Spent the night in a Marriot hotel parking lot in Boise when we FINALLY got there and then back on the road!

This is a playground in Ontario. For some reason 15 month olds aren't too keen on staying in a car for hours upon hours and need breaks every so often.

 Success!
 More driving...
 Not so happy camper.
We made it to Bend, Oregon on the second day. The campground we stayed at was nice! Except the 6 inches of pollen that was covering everything, including us after playing outside.
 Our future house in Bend.
 Self family picture... aww... presh...
 More driving...

Break time! It was for Mommy's mental health more than anything. :)

Back on the $(@&^*@ road... :)

FINALLY there!!! This was the first campground we stayed at and it was amazing! 2 minute walk to the beach. AWESOME!

 Me and my little love...
"Oh, hey there, Nana... did you need some help with those pancakes?"
Hailey with little Ruby, Papa with Haddie.

You know we had to stop and see Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox. (Sorry, Babe, no picture for you. You didn't talk to us like Paul.)

The men look simply thrilled about this stop. No love for Paul Bunyan apparently.
 Redwood forest exploring time.

Back at the campground, heading down a trail to the beach.

Beach time = COVERED in sand = bath time!

Then some more driving to the next campground that had a 1 minute walk to the beach!

It was not super warm while we were there if you had not caught that by now.

(It's kind of hard to get two women and two babies in a self portrait.)

My favorite picture from the trip. Haha... that'll teach her! ... or not...
Seal caves. They smelled like a giant port-a-potty. And cost $12 a person or something ridiculous like that. BUT it's all in the sake of memories, right? Right.
 Ryan, Michelle, Ruby.
Mom and Dad/Nana and Papa. :)
Lincoln is into puling faces so we thought we would join him.

Beautiful sunset on the beach by our campground!
 Playing soccer.

 Love them! :)
Playing jump rope with a giant sea snake... or maybe it was kelp.
 Papa and Haddie.

My Dad said he looked like a creeper in this picture so he made me take another one. :)

The aquarium on the way to campground numero tres.

Hailey, Hope and I in a "Hurricane Simulator". It basically felt like a big blow dryer. I am no longer scared of hurricanes.
 Tillamook Cheese Factory!
Haddie got her first driving lessons on this trip.

At campground number three. There are not very many pictures at this one because it was mosquito infested and the beach was a 5 minute drive away.

Dave is huge 'Goonies' fan. I had never even seen the movie before we started dating. Oops. Apparently it's kind of a big deal to a lot of people. Our last campground was by Astoria, Oregon, which is where Goonies was filmed and while we were there it was Goonies day. We went bowling at a bowling alley where Chunk is when he sees the police chase. Dave and Billy recited lines from the movie and we got a free game. They had a scavenger hunt around town, too. But we didn't do it. Our family is clearly not a Goonies family. But Dave wanted to at least drive by the jail (he was a little sad that we didn't partake in more of Goonies day (: ) so we got a picture of it and the car.

Aaannnddd we're back on the road. This is a fish hatchery we stopped at for a break on the way home.
 Feeding the fish.
We had a GREAT time! My whole family (all my siblings) was there for the first time in quite a while and it was fun to spend time with them. We also got family pictures taken for the first time in like 16 years. It was a LOT of driving, especially with a 1 year old but it was worth it.

We are very glad to be home.

Awesome Ashley!! I have very fond memories of a trip to Oregon coast when I was 13ish. "Very fond" just made me sound like an old geezer, but that's alright. We went to Tillamook Cheese Factory too! Some of my best memories are road trips, but that's probably because I don't remember any from when I was 15 months old. My whole family is going to be in Pocatello for awhile in August! It definitely doesn't happen often. Looks like such a fun trip.

Love this! So glad you had fun. I love the "creeper" picture, and all the pictures for that matter. :)
